If those prices are for real, I say those are great prices. Even if you have to chip in for shipping.

Tell me, why is it these coins are so cheap? They are full one ounce gold, correct?
am I missing something here or it just my "newbieness" kicking in?

I think the reason why they tend to be so cheap in general is because people are afraid of all the counterfeits out there.

Apparently, this coin has been counterfeited a lot.

+1 on that...... the chinese have a notorious rep for letting counterfits run hog wild.

There was a thread around here showing a entire conterfeit operation from start to finish with thousands upon thousands of rounds.

even counterfeit one ounce is still one ounce of gold, unless if you mean fake gold, which is not made of gold. gold is very hard to counterfeit in weight.

the real reason is the picture was from 2006.
